On April 29, 2024, Pengfei Group held a hydrogen-powered shared bicycle and hydrogen-powered bus commissioning ceremony with the theme of "Hydrogen New Xiaoyi Zero-Carbon Travel" in Xiaoyi City, Luliang City, Shanxi Province.
In 2023, Pengfei Group will join hands with Hydrogen Aviation TechnologyJointly plan the strategy of bringing hydrogen into thousands of homes, and initially promote the launch of 3,000 shared bicycles in Xiaoyi. The first batch of hydrogen-powered shared bicycles were successfully delivered and put into use in Xiaoyi City at the end of April this year. Unlike the previously launched hydrogen-powered two-wheeled vehicle solutions, the hydrogen-powered two-wheeled vehicles piloted on a small scale in various places in the early stage were mainly based on hydrogen-electric assistance or hydrogen-electric range extension solutions. The vehicles launched this time use hydrogen and electricity as the main power and main energy source, with better green environmental protection effects, and higher requirements for the stability and environmental adaptability of hydrogen power sources. The 3,000 hydrogen-powered shared bicycles in this project can save 900 tons of carbon emissions and 900,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

The hydrogen-powered shared bicycles delivered this time use a two-wheeled hydrogen power source jointly developed and designed by Hydrogen Air Technology and Pengfei. The highly integrated design allows the entire hydrogen power source to be easily installed in the compact shared bicycle; the efficient fuel cell technology allows each gram of hydrogen to support the vehicle to travel 1 kilometer; the high-strength structural design enables the power source to withstand harsh full-life vibration tests without damage or leakage; the entire vehicle also carefully manages hydrogen safety, and will not cause explosion accidents in various extreme situations such as collision, leakage, and fire, and will promptly warn in case of illegal use.
Against the backdrop of the central government’s strong call for the development of new productivity such as hydrogen energy, Pengfei Hydrogen Energy and Hydrogen Aviation Technology will work closely together to promote the “Hydrogen into Thousands of Homes, Hydrogen Energy Town” technology demonstration project starting from Xiaoyi, and gradually promote and pilot more innovative hydrogen energy applications across the country, so that advanced hydrogen energy technology can serve the people’s livelihood market worth hundreds of billions of yuan as soon as possible.
