At the work site, a hydrogen-powered six-rotor drone took off under the operation of the staff of the State Grid Heilongjiang Ultra-High Voltage Company and worked efficiently on the Yongha Line A and Line B. The high-definition camera equipped on the drone carried out a full-scale inspection and took photos of the transmission line.

The hydrogen-electric drone in operation was developed by Hydrogen Aviation Technology . Since November 2023, Hydrogen Spin 4 has been operating efficiently for a year.
The staff said: The performance of traditional drones will be seriously reduced in extremely cold weather, and line operations still require manual intervention. After using hydrogen-electric drones, we only need to control the drones to perform operations, which greatly improves the efficiency of operations while also ensuring the safety of personnel. We hope that more hydrogen-electric drones will take off in Heilongjiang in the future to help solve winter operation problems.

Heilongjiang has long and cold winters and short and cool summers. The climate is mostly dry and cold throughout the year, especially the extremely cold weather that lasts for nearly 100 days. Traditional manpower and drone operation modes are greatly affected by the weather.
The Hydrogen-4 is the world's first hydrogen-electric drone that can achieve stable flight for 100 minutes at -40°C. It has completed environmental tests at altitudes of 0 to 5,300 meters and has undergone rigorous testing in low-temperature environments.

This winter, Hydrogen-4 will continue to perform efficient operations, contribute to ensuring the stable operation of power supply lines, and help local residents spend the winter in warmth.
